«My Commitment»
Sometimes, we all need reminders now and then. We’ve all been to workshops where promises and commitments are written on pieces of paper we never look at again. The idea here is to build a reminder bridge between what we have promised and a memory stimulator. These motto cards are one way to that. Bonus, they act as motivators too!
10 Minutes
1-45 Participants
How it works:
Have participants write down their commitment on a piece of paper or somewhere where they will see it regularly.
Have participants pick a card from the set with the motto that symbolises their commitment and will serve as a reminder (Let’s be honest, we are less likely to lose a cool motto card than a piece of paper).
Have participants place the card where they will see it regularly and be reminded of their commitment. This can be in a transparent phone case, taped to a monitor, etc.
Tips, tricks & more:
- We stated 1-45 Participants because there are 45 cards in a set. However, with more than 30, we would recommend using two sets of cards so that each motto is available twice which increases the chance that a participant will find a suitable card.
- With this activity, the cards become single use only. However, it can be very powerful and worth the expense.

«Pick Three»
Icebreakers tend to be boring or over the top. Luckily, our icebreaker is neither! It’s simple and surprising while also being effective.
«Headlines»
Sometimes, we all need to take a moment, take a step back from our day to day and take a moment to think bigger. The mottos on the cards can help you do just that.
«What if?»
Sometimes it is important to let our sense of wonder take over in order to explore all that could be. Without limitations imagine what would be possible.
«Yes, and»
Boost your innovation through divergent thinking. Combine random activity cards with a bit of inspired improvisation and let the magic begin.
«Story Time»
Most Icebreakers are predictable. Participants share the same basic information that very few remember a day later. It’s time to shake things up a bit.
